Heng Ee Harmonica Concert (2018)

Last Saturday, our school’s harmonica band visited Dewan Sri Pinang to attend Heng Ee High School’s harmonica concert.
Date: 14 April 2018 (Saturday)
Time: 7.30pm
Venue: Dewan Sri Pinang
Here’s what we thought of it:
” The Heng Ee harmonica concert was splendid; from the choice of venue to the variety of instruments, I could tell that they didn’t come into this performance empty handed. On the contrary, I felt that the constant display of the ensemble was rather bland, and to an extent- awkward. I wish that we wouldn’t make the same mistake during our own concert.”

” The entire experience was relaxed and fun! I was expecting it to stoic and rigid, like any other orchestral performance- but it turned out to be surprisingly crowd-friendly and appealed to my amateur self within the first 10 minutes. However, I did pick up some small slip ups, such as the poor care of harmonica due to the coldness of the hall as well as the lack of control of the conductor.”

” This year’s theme “Spiritual Enlightenment” was made complete with the intricate lighting effects. A little detail I noticed was that they were using condenser microphones instead of the regular stage one. I think that our harmonica band could introduce that into our future performance from a more complete experience for the audience.”

Penang State Competition Announcement (2018)

All Form 2 to Form 5 are required to join this competition as it will bring the contender heaps of experience. However, a fee of RM 25 and RM 15 are required for solo and group performances respectively.
Date: 22 April 2018 (April)
Time: 1pm – 6pm
Attire: White shirt and red skirt (for contestants)
Fee: RM 25/RM 15

Heng Ee high school will be organising a concert on 14 April. We strongly recommend our members attending as it can be used as a reference for self-development, hence a time of attendance will be taken. It starts at 7:30 but we require our members to arrive 30 minutes earlier (7pm) for roll call. For those able to attend, please be sure to hand in the ticket fare to Ng Sue Yee from S4E or Chloe Tan Yuen Ning from S4C. Thank you.

Harmonica Band Tee Fees (2018)

Orientation Day 2018

Last Saturday was our Orientation Day. The committee arrived an hour earlier to set up the games. We had loads of fun and managed to break the ice among our fellow members while playing obstacle-filled games that required teamwork to succeed. There were 5 games and 1 extra icebreaker in which everyone sat in a circle and exchanged names.

We will be holding an orientation day for the new participants (form one and form two students) as a welcoming into the PCGHS Harmonica Band.
Date: 3 February 2018 (Saturday)
Time: 8:30a.m. – 1:00p.m.
Venue: Classes C15 – C17 PCGHS
Attire: PJK t-shirt/Harmonica Band uniform + long pants
